Discomfort and Pain (D&P), this can be manifest it physically or emotionally, is not a bad thing to have. It can be a powerful tool for transformation. Many times our first reaction is to utilize our resources to mask or distract us from our pain rather than using it as a stepping stone to greater health and awareness.
Discomfort and pain is your body (Physical, energetic or spiritual) asking you to stop and pay attention to what is happening inside of you or in your surroundings.

When you pause, ask, and look to see what is there, you open yourself to a new world full of possibilities. You learn about yourself and develop a more loving and understanding connection with you, with others and with the world. In a sense, when we work through our discomfort and pain, we become more open and aware.

4 Steps to make Discomfort and Pain your best ally.

  1. Feel: Sit in a quiet space and let yourself feel the sensation(s) in your body.
  2. Ask: Opening your mind to possibilities.
    What is there?
    Why is it there?
    What does it need?
Write the answer down (This may help.) Do not try to alter what you hear, be honest. Sometimes you may be surprised by what your body needs.
  3. Work: Do what you are being asked in the previous step. Even if it seems silly or you think it is not going to work. Consciousness is more educated than we are giving it credit.
  4. Surrender: After you have done number 3, surrender any conclusions or expectations of the end result; what you would like to see happen. Those desires come from our present understanding, our current ‘us.’ The current us only wants to stop the pain and sometimes that is not always what our higher self-needs to grow and evolve. This is the time to lean into faith the everything will resolve in the best way possible while surrendering the belief that we know what the best way possible is.

If you feel things are not shifting, go through the process again. Some of this D&P can be very old and have several layers. It may take more than one time to clear. Other times, things will shift and clear right away. In my personal experience, it takes an average of 3 times.

Let me know about your process and leave a comment.
